Suzuki K10P - Front Fender

I got the front fender fit on the K10 today.  What should have been a 30 minute job, turned into a couple hours, as I mistakenly fit a 2.75x17 front tire.  This bike actually takes a 2.5x17 up front.  The wider 2.75 just wasn't going to fit inside the fender without rubbing.  Luckily, I had fit 2.5x17 Michelin Gazelle tires all around on the Miyata, so I grabbed the rear tire off the Miyata, put it on the front wheel for the Suzuki, and put the 2.75 tire on the back of the Miyata, which will actually help to gear it up a tad.

So long story short, the front fender is on and the tire doesn't rub.  Just the faint whisper of the rather long tire nubbies brushing against the inside of the fender, but those will wear off quickly.

I love the look of this front fender, nice and snug over the tire

El Guapo - Fenders

I made up fenders for El Guapo over the past two days. I really liked the shape and size of the plastic front fender on the Hodaka, so I decided to use that as a mold, and run some fiberglass. I had just enough cloth to do just that.

rushing on the last bit of resin:

Quick shot of the front fender mounted. It only took about 10 minutes to get it trimmed into shape, and sanded:

Now I must shower off the fiberglass dust.

Bridgestone BS-7: Front Fender and Side Cover

I got a bit of work done this morning on the Bridgestone. Actually, the front fender has been a multiple day process, as I was having a hard time finding a fender that would work. As it happens, I had a spare Yamaha fender in the spares pile. It was a full fender style, but was heavily mangled. So I chopped it up, then made a mounting bracket for it out of aluminum. It got paint this morning.

Front fender mounted, with a nice little front brake cable guide attached to it:

Speaking of cables, I made up a front brake cable, throttle cable, and a clutch cable from spares. I cut everything to length, then soldered on new end pieces. Everything routes nicely around the new headlight fairing. Oh yeah, I made a headlight fairing! It is a very thin piece of aluminum from a spot light shield. I managed to cut and shape it into something decent looking. It uses a small Honda C100 headlight:

On the other side of the bike, I made up a simple side cover that covers up the battery. It also has a mount for the on/off ignition switch. I currently have it in a lightly polished aluminum. It might look better red. I'm not sure yet:

Bridgestone Front Fender

I had been wanting to make up a small front fender for the Bridgetone, to keep road grime off the motor. The original chrome fender was in terrible condition, and frankly wasn't very cafe' racer looking. I wanted something simple and tidy.

While searching through OSH Hardware my eye caught a large 2" conduit sweep. It looked to have about the correct radius. After hacking it up, sanding the edges smooth, and contouring the front and rear lips, I test fit it. It was a pretty damn good fit! So I sanded it, primed it, and painted it.

It mounts to the small fork brace I built last week, using a rear brake rod nut for now. I seem to have used up my collection of M8 nuts.

I think it looks pretty good.
